Soul - Groot seminarie Brugge 2005

It was in the Seminary in Bruges last year : a video installation (I think from the Belgian Marie-Jo Lafontaine) of a man working out in a gym, filmed in a very special way so that it conveys to “The tears of steal” (Les larmes d’acier, the title of the work, if I am not mistaken).  These images in the silence and the holiness of the Seminary gave an association with the suffering of Jesus on the cross.  It gave a precious experience.  And being allowed to visit the Seminary is already special itself.

Het was op de thematentoonstelling “Soul” in het Groot Seminarie in Brugge, 2005 : een video-installatie (ik denk van de Belgische Marie-Jo Lafontaine) van een man die traint in een gym, op een heel speciale manier gefilmd zodat het “de tranen van staal” (Les larmes d’acier, de titel van het werk, als ik me niet vergis) weergeeft. Deze beelden in de stilte en de heiligheid van het Seminarie riepen een associatie op met het lijden van Jezus aan het kruis.  Het was een kostbare ervaring.  En het Seminarie mogen bezoeken is al een bijzondere ervaring op zich.
